Unwanted Kiss
So, last night I went on a dinner date with an old High School classmate. We went to go eat at my Favorite Mexican restaurant, which also happens to be an old hot spot for me and Brandon. The whole night was just weird to me.
So anyway, we got there around 5 or so. We ordered our food and talked for a very long time. He loves talking about himself...he also loves to boast about himself. Oddly enough, I found it ironic that he dislikes arrogant and narcissistic guys. He should really listen to himself talk, he wouldn't like himself. Anyway, I was hoping the date would end early. Because it was going south towards 9 o'clock. We were both ready to call it a night. Well we talked for another 30-45 minutes in the restaurant and then finally got up to leave. Well, on the way out...we get stuck in the parking lot. And yea...we're talking again! This time, he started to become more playful and flirty. I kept told him several times to go home, and he was like, "No, I don't have to be anywhere!"
Anyway, it was getting close to 11 and I was itching to go home. Well, we hug one another and then he leaned in for a kiss. It didn't last long...thank God! But when he pulled away, I didn't realize I was making a disgusted facial expression. He asked, "What?? Was it not good?" I said, "Oh...ummm..I just wasn't expecting a kiss." He says, "Well, if you're lucky enough, you may get another one!" I was thinking...no, please no! Not another kiss! UGH!!!
I have turned down kisses from several guys who have tried to kiss me. So, why didn't I turn him down? Well you see, he lives 2 hours away and he made the trip to come visit me. So, I felt bad that he traveled for 2 hours in the rain just to come have dinner with me. In all honesty, I would have 1000% rejected the kiss. It was NOT wanted...nor did I portray any signs that I welcomed it.
First of all, I made it CLEAR to him in the beginning that I wasn't ready to start dating. He knew that going in that I just got out of the relationship and I was only looking for something casual -- as in strictly friends. Second, I purposely brought Brandon's name throughout the night to show that, "Hey, I'm not over this guy who I spent the last 2 years being in love with..." So, why...WHY in the world would he think that I wanted to kiss him?
Well, the answer is...he's a guy. It's simple. He didn't listen to a word I said. He is cocky and he thought that by talking about how great of a guy he was...he could win me over with a kiss. WRONG!
Well, let's just say...I am not going to hang out with this guy again! I don't want to lead him on...because he clearly is leading himself on. And I don't want another unwanted kiss. Yuck!!!
